The Power of Presence:
The Heart of The HeartWay

The end-of-life journey is not about saying goodbye. It’s about honoring a life well lived.

Here at The HeartWay, we had the honor of serving Maria and her father, Hector — a proud, independent man, unafraid of death but deeply concerned about the impact his passing would have on his family.

Hector’s greatest wish was to die at home, surrounded by love, without burdening those he held dear.

We worked closely with Maria and her family, guiding them through the emotional and logistical challenges of home-based end-of-life care.

We helped them create a sacred space — filled with music, candles, whispered memories, and gentle hands tending to his needs. As Hector’s time drew near, we held his family in their grief.

When Hector took his final breath, he was not alone. He was at home, held by the people he loved most, in a space filled with peace. Maria later told us that instead of trauma, she carried gratitude — that her father’s passing was not just an ending, but a profound and beautiful transition.

This is the power of presence. This is the heart of The HeartWay.

Recently, our HeartWay founder Dr. Andrea Deerheart shared Maria and Hector’s story — and about our work and mission — during an in-depth interview with Mystic Mag. We hope you’ll check it out!
